Best of 2015 : Part 2

We captured too many smiles to count. We loved having fun play dates at the beach and capturing loving families along with their sweet new additions. One of my favorite wedding designs of 2015 was the lighted wall at the New Children's Museum for Ayisha and Matt's wedding. What a dream. Ashley and Greg had a flower crown station at their wedding along with a stunning, hand-cut paper backdrop for photos. The family and friends of our bride and grooms welcomed us like one of their own.

Best of 2015 : Part 1

What a year. We met so many fantastic couples and vendors that filled our year with love, happiness and unforgettable memories. Big hugs and endless gratitude to all of you.

2015 began in true San Diego fashion with a sparkling seaside wedding. I traveled to a few spectacular places, the best being Bali for Mike and I's wedding anniversary. We shot a wedding at a yoga retreat center where the bride and groom put on the most amazing first dance ever (she is an actress and dancer, can you imagine?). I shot my first proposal, all through tears, and it was one of the most rewarding shoots I have ever done. We captured an epic three-day destination wedding in Newport, Rhode Island, including a lobster and clam bake, and the actual wedding complete with beautifully personalized touches; National Donut Day favors, mad libs, lawn games, and a groom choreographed performance to an 80's song.

Kenzie and Colin's Rehearsal Dinner

I love meeting my friends at Herringbone for amazing cocktails. Naturally, I was so excited when Kenzie mentioned it was their rehearsal dinner location and also the spot where Colin had proposed a few months back.  How special is that?!  I was really excited to get to know Kenzie and Colin's family - they were so friendly and kind to me. The speeches were incredibly heartfelt and I loved the challenge of shooting in a happening restaurant.  This definitely set the tone for an epic three-day event.

5 Somethings // Fresh Start

I am looking out to 2016 with a grateful and excited heart for all of the adventures and happenings to come. We are excited to share our '5 Somethings' with you. We hope you enjoy tidbits of our dreams, love, photography, and life musings every week.

Something Lovely :: I've started inspiration boards for rebranding. It's been so fun to be on the lookout for just the right color palette.

Something Dreamy :: In less than 2 weeks, I fly to Copenhagen and Stockholm for a winter Scandinavian trip to visit some friends. What will it be like? I'm so curious.

Something Captured :: A winter snowy engagement shoot in Julian. San Diego's weather was wild this week.

Something New :: If/then Jen and I went to the Broadway show.  I'm not one to indulge in what could have been.  Gratitude for what is real, has always been an easier concept for me.  This show was so much more layered than I anticipated.  I usually expected more jazz hands from broadway then a deep, introspective tear jerker.  It was an achievement and left me a little changed.  I think as I start working on my goals and designing my life for 2016, I'll think of this show and how it pushed me a little.

Something Challenging :: We've been pouring through our portfolio's to update our website.  It's like choosing your favorite child. There are so many thrilling moments.  This is going to take awhile longer than I thought to curate.

xoxo,

Suzanne
