before and after

I feel really lucky to have a chance to give today.  12 inches exactly.  I've been waiting for a long time to be able to donate to Locks of Love.  Sometimes when you are running a rad business, it's hard to free up your time to be able to give back to the community as often as I'd like.  Growing my hair long was something small I could do every day - a mini rebellion.  It feels really good and really freeing to cut off all that hair.  It's not that I didn't love it, but it also feels good to reinvent myself a little.  It's a visual reminder to give, open up my heart a little more, and take care of myself and my people.  Here are my iphone portraits from the day before and at the salon.

la jolla engagement photography : Michael and Rehana

Sometimes the first time I meet someone is at their photoshoot. Although, I had emailed, spoken with, and google skyped (ha that can't be a way you are suppose to say it) with Michael and Rehana before this day, I still felt surprised by their sweetness and laughter when I met them in person. I'm pretty new to video chatting (a-ha) but I'm a fan. It was fun to talk to them in their apartment in Brooklyn. M and R's excitement for the food, dancing, and family came across through the little screen. I could imagine their fusion wedding at the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla. I just couldn't imagine how genuine and fun they would be in person. I guess it should be no surprise since they were referred to us from our pals Morgan and Joe who are the very definition of awesomeness. shewanders photography loves the beachshewanders photography, san diego engagement photography, la jolla engagement photographysan diego wedding photography, making out at the beachshewanders.com, san diego wedding photography, engagement, lovely light san diego engagement photography, bird bird bird is the wordshewanders photography, sweet beach engagement session
