Abbey and Steve : Luce Loft

Abbey and Steve are an amazingly talented couple.  I loved hearing all about their art, design, and love escapades during the speeches.  When two designers are this in love I think the world has to be more beautiful, well designed, functional and a lot more fun.Abbey and Steve fell in love while designing a table for charity.  I think these two are the master of understatement.  I saw the table it's more like a clubhouse or a small party for a child.  So I guess I shouldn't have been that surprised when "we practiced our first dance" really meant "we could win So You Think You Can Dance".  Seriously, I've now learned you can not even try to anticipate what is around the corner when it comes to Abbey and Steve.  How wonderful that they found each other.  They have boundless energy and leave the rest of us regular people in the dust.  I hope to collaborate with them on many more projects in the future.  I know I could only be a better person for it.  Jan and I had an amazing day and left Luce Loft with giant smiles on our faces reliving them moments of the day.

Congratulations Abbey and Steve you two are off to an amazingly beautiful start. xoxo Suzanne

Bayley and Craig Engagement

The overcast sky was no match for us.  Bayley and Craig and I were determined to have a beautiful San Diego day near the beach.  Bayley and Craig live in Oklahoma and are having a dream destination wedding here in San Diego in the fall.  The Hotel Del is going to be the perfect backdrop for all of their friends and family to experience Coronado and I could not be happier to be their photographer.  I'm super excited to see what Luxe Events, Root 75 and Brightly Designed dreams up for these two cool kids.xoxo Suzanne

Marti and Jason : Hotel Del Coronado

Marti and Jason had an intimate wedding at the Hotel Del on the Garden Terrace. I felt really honored to meet them both and be a part of them uniting their families. Marti and her daughters were so sweet together I really enjoyed their laughter and easiness with each other. I love garden weddings and who wouldn't want to be a guest at this one. Their 22 guests were spoiled with a beautiful evening as the sunset and the sky turned electric blue. Marti and Annette Gomez are friends. What a lucky person to be friends with. When I first walked up to the table I was certain that I was at a magazine shoot for Exquisite Weddings and not an actual wedding. Annette really out did herself. I can see why Marti is such a beautiful person, I'd want to shower her in flowers too. Congratulations to Marti and Jason and their sweet kids.   All the best, Suzanne Hotel Del Flowers by Annette Gomez Michelle CoulonVenue: Hotel Del Coronado

Kelly and Matt : The Marriot Coronado

It has been such a fun year getting to know Kelly and Matt.  We had an amazing engagement session in the mountains where we were all happy to find a snow storm.  It was one of those rare days where you drive an hour outside of San Diego and find yourself in piles and piles of snow.  We hung out at a cute diner and got to know each other over warm cocktails.I had a great time at the rehearsal dinner and was touched by how loved they were by all their friends and family.  I really got a sense of how proud everyone was of who Matt and Kelly are as people.

Kelly got ready at their home in Coronado and Matt got ready down the street at a friends house.  Their wedding day was like a tour of the island.  The ceremony was held at St. Paul's Methodist Church and then we headed over to Spreckles park for some portraits.  The bridal party opened some champagne and let loose and started to celebrate.  Soon we were at the reception and hearing Matt and Kelly's friends give the toast.  I, of course cried, especially at Kelly's maid of honor speech.  The love in the room was palpable.

Kelly's aunt created all the florals for an event.  It's always nice to have a professional florist in the family to make something special for your wedding day.  Brightly Designed created some dreamy paper products with silver foil that I just loved.  Amanda McPhail from Creative Occasions made sure it was all smooth sailing.  Austin Hendrix gave the guests good reason to let loose on the dance floor.  I love working with a great team.

After the formalities it was all smiles on the dance floor.  What a great way to spend their first day as husband and wife.

Congratulations Kelly and Matt.  Thanks for the fun year together!! xoxo Suzanne
