4 things...Moonlight

Happy weekend to you all. I hope everyone has had an event filled summer so far. I'm still dreamy from Lauren and I's trip to Washington and Oregon.  I can not wait to share some images of the beautiful sites we walked through.  I feel like I left a little piece of me on Orcas Island.  It's a bit like summer camp.  People's faces soften when you mention the island.  It just has a little magic.  I'm so grateful to Morgan and Erin for making us a part of their wedding week and Serena and Dan for opening up their home to us.  Here is a nostalgic look at two strangers watching the moonlight dance on the water.1. Reading: The Girl Who Saved the King of Sweeden by Jonas Jonasson. Check out a review here. Two great things about this book: It's funny, and it reminds us the impact that just one small person can have on the world.

2. Creating: watercolor in plein air. This past week I got a chance to paint in the beautiful outdoors of Washington National Park.   My painting was no masterpiece but it felt really good to draw upon real life for inspiration.

3. Dreaming: of a date night with Mike. Even though I've had a blast on my trip to the Pacific Northwest, it's nice just to sit on the couch and hold Mike's hand.  I've missed him.

4. Inspired: by a Rad post in an inspiring blog. Wittyrental's recent blog post talked about fashion forward ladies and imagined what their spaces would be like. This post has really sparked something in me that I can't quite verbalize yet but I hope to soon.

Happy Sunday friends,

xoxo,

Suzanne

4 Things...Island

We hope you're all having a great summer so far. This week I took a trip to Washington to shoot a wedding. The picture below is from the ferry ride to Orcas Island. Here are a few things I've been enjoying lately...Watching: So You Think You Can Dance is back. Performance art is one of my favorite pleasures in life. I especially love seeing live performances. I am always in awe that someone would stand on a stage and pour their heart out. For some reason even though it's reality TV, the show always captures my imagination. It's one of those shows that Mike and I can agree on. Is it crazy that it makes me feel proud that my husband loves the arts?

Loving: Yesterday I shot a beautiful wedding on Orcas Island. I read an article in sunset magazine over 8 years ago about the island and I've been dreaming of it ever since. Here is a recent Sunset Magazine article about the island. Cheers to Morgan and Erin for sharing their wedding day with me.

Thinking: about Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet hyper saturated palate. It has been floating in and out of my mind lately. I think it's all of the fun I've been having with my underwater shoots.

Dreaming: of Portland. Lauren and I are heading there tomorrow. Is portland as good as they say? Time to find out.

Suzanne

Inspiration

Hope you all had a wondrous 4th of July.  This week has just flown by.  Wedding season is definitely in full swing.  We had two amazing weddings last weekend and a sweet destination wedding yesterday.  So that means more pictures coming your way.  I feel like we've really gotten into a good rhythm.  Finally, I am getting a little less shy and sharing a whole lot more of our lives and work with all of you.  So thanks for stopping by.  It means a lot.  Here are my 4 things for the week.

Drinking: Champagne.  Mike came home with a bottle of champagne earlier this week.  Considering the joy IPA brings him, I was swept off my feet.  Sometimes it's the little things that bring a slow smile to your lips.

Listening: To the Songza App everyday.  The concierge will help you pick out a playlist based on mood, activity or genre.  Recently I had a fun time with "Your own John Hughes Movie".

Loving:  Mike and I were listening to some old school Waylon Jennings the other day and he said he had a daydream once where he serenaded his grandma at a picnic to the tune of "Rambling Man"

Dreaming: We are dreaming about an upcoming wedding in Northern Italy this August.

Besos!

xoxo,

Suzanne

4 Things...Sunday Funday

Hope everyone has had a chance to do something fun this weekend. Last weekend I had the chance to take time to visit my nephew, who has taken over my heart. Here are some of the things that I have been enjoying lately...

Watching: The FIFA World Cup. I fell in love with the sport at an early age when I played youth soccer. During college I spent a few summers in Europe and was able to travel and watch the World Cup,which was a blast to experience.

Listening: The new Ain't it Fun music video by Paramore. The video is about breaking world records, and they break some rad records in this video. I think the concept is  sweet and funny, and some cute engagement session ideas could come from it.

Admiring: My beautiful nephew...who I have nicknamed stripes. He's so fun and everything he does makes me laugh. I'm totally in love.

Dreaming: I'm ecstatic to say I booked a trip to Iceland this August. This trip has been my dream for over decade and I'm thrilled to finally be able to live it.

Enjoy your summer!

xoxo,

Suzanne
