OLIVIAS ADVENTURE

I asked one of our wonderful interns Olivia about her amazing abroad adventure this summer.  As happy as I am for her... I am so glad she's back!  xoxo... Jessica from the WanderersThis past summer, that is sadly closing to an end soon, was one of the greatest adventures of my life thus far! I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to study abroad in Europe for two whole months. I jumped for joy when I was accepted into the program and couldn't wait to explore and be immersed in cultures I had never experienced. I studied photography in Paris for a month and then a different class in London. Many people ask which country was my favorite but they are hardly comparable; each has its own unique and beautiful qualities. London was an absolute blast! The people were so friendly and inexplicably hilarious! I visited as many places I could including cathedrals, the London Eye, Buckingham palace, Borough Markets, and even a boat tour of the Thames! Everywhere in London is incredible, especially those sweet taxi cabs! The streets are overflowing with history and magnificent monuments everywhere you go. My favorite parts of London were definitely the people and my new-found favorite means of transportation--walking. San Diego is hardly a practical city for walking to and from places, but it was so refreshing to be able to walk to markets or pubs and be constantly surrounded by interesting things to look at along the way. I will always remember the friends I made on my journey and will carry the memories with me forever. It was a life changing experience that provided me with a broader perspective on the world and the wonderful people that live in it :)

Happy Friday everyone!  It's all going by in a blur.   Today I'm sending you a quick hello from a quirky hotel in Amsterdam.   I'm waiting for Cristina to come pick me up to go to the airport.  We are headed to Milan and then to tomorrow's wedding site.  I'm ready.  I'm ready for the wedding 20 years in the making.    Here is a quick iphone snap from Paris.  I can't wait to download my cards and show you what i've been up to.  Have a good one, xoxo s

September Style : Salina

Real Bride Salina is on the blog today to tell us her dress story.  Her dress is so beautiful and what a beautiful girl.  Hair up or down, veil on or off, Salina was a knock out.

One Monday, just a few months before our wedding, I stopped by M Bride in La Jolla during my lunch
break. The owner Michelle was great and I told her about my dilemma- I had another dress (that’s a
whole other story, but to sum it up, the first dress was just not right) and I was running out of time. She
told me to take a look at what she had and we’d go from there. I chose a few dresses to try on and after
the first one, which wasn’t doing much for me, Michelle said, “I think I have just what you are looking
for- give me a minute.”
A few minutes later she came back with a dress that hadn’t been on the boutique floor. It was literally
in a FedEx box ready to be shipped back to the designer Junko Yoshioka in NYC. Michelle had the
sample on loan for another bride who saw it online and had tried it on over the weekend. Fortunately
for me it was still in the boutique, and the second I had it on I knew it was the dress I wanted to get
married in! I didn’t cry, but I felt very happy and confident in my choice. I loved it so much I kept it on
for a good 40 minutes. In fact, I actually had it on when the FedEx delivery man came into the shop to
pick up outgoing packages (aka my dress). Thankfully Michelle asked him to come back in 15 minutes
(thus I was forced to take off my dress), and thankfully I decided to stop by M Bride during my lunch
break rather than after work or else I may never have seen my dress. I am so happy I followed my heart
and found a wedding dress that I loved and was uniquely me!

xoxo Salina
