It's Monday Fun Day and it is the 4th of July! To make matters that much more awesome, it is a B-E-A-utiful day in Sunny San Diego. Sharing Grant and Chloe's patriotic engagement shoot on this great American holiday makes sense like drinking American Beer and grilling BBQ on the 4th; so that is what we decided to do! Happy 4th of July! Be safe and Have fun! kiss, kiss -Katie from the Wanderers
It's Friday and the 4th is around the corner: Let's celebrate!
Being that today is the first of July, we wanted to start our weekend festivities a little early! Here is a sneak peak of Chloe and Grant’s engagement shoot. Their love created fireworks in the air, while they strutted their stuff to a 4th of July theme. More pictures to come on the 4th! Enjoy! Dos Besos, Katie from the Wanderers
7 Wonders for Wandering brides: Meet Sharon From Organic Elements
Brides-to-Be, Organic Elements is a wondrous business with colorful talents that can help make your wedding a piece of art! Meet Sharon and see what she is up to! dos besos, Katie from the Wanderers
1) What should brides/grooms/curious seekers know about you?
-That I love to create custom weddings, each week my designers and I embark on a new adventure.
2) Why do you love what you are doing?
-I am actually making a living though art, and flowers are my medium. How amazing is that?
3) What makes your business wonderful and stand out from the rest?
-Lateral thinking. We love to bend the rules of structural mechanics and which elements can be used in a floral arrangement... both structural and floral.
4) Where do you find your inspiration?
-Fine art, fashion, architecture and in the eyes of the couples I meet.
5) What does the world need right now?
-Love, understanding and forgiveness.
6) What advice do you have for brides to be?
-All the rules have fallen by the wayside, make it your own. Be consistent, go with your gut and enjoy the ride.
7) If you could go to one of the 7 wonders of the world, where would you go and why?
-Of the old seven, The Hanging Gardens of Babylon of course! It would allow me to combine the florist in me with the years I studied Greek Art History. Of the new, I did visit Chichen Itza and it was amazing!
MONDAY MONDAY
Originally, this post was inspired by a girlfriend who recommended I immediately go out and see the movie The Tree of Life. Well, I went and saw it, and if not for the gorgeous imagery, I might have walked out of the theatre! Luckily, the movie did not spoil my passion and adoration for trees. Especially pictures of trees. Before the images of trees, here are a few tips on how you can save them:
Educate yourself. How can you solve the problem when you don’t know what the problem is? Luckily, information on going green, environmentalism and sustainability is everywhere. Visit TreeHugger.com for more tips on going green, or watch BBC’s “Planet Earth”.
Change to Fluorescent Bulbs. If every house in the United States changed all of the light bulbs in their house to Fluorescent bulbs, that would be equivalent to taking one million cars off the streets.
Give things away. Take items you haven’t used in a while to Goodwill. Recycle that old sweater!
Plant a tree. It’s good for the air, can keep you cool, and it’s fun to climb!
I shot the last photograph while wandering in Denver, Colorado.
"Us sing and dance, make faces and give flower bouquets, trying to be loved. You ever notice that trees do everything to git attention we do, except walk?" -Alice Walker, The Color Purple
