Happy Halloween! October Playlist

Hi! I’m Audrey, an intern at Shewanders from Orange County. It’s October, which means pumpkin everything! If you are anything like me and my best friends that means a lot of baking (mostly with pumpkin spice), carving pumpkins, and wearing sweaters in this heat trying to pretend it’s cold outside. Along with our fall traditions, good music to set the mood is step one. While we do our baking, carving, and even a road trip to Julian for some pie and apple cider, the foundation of all of these activities is making memories with the people I love most while we listen to our favorite music. A lot, and I mean A LOT, of these memories, are filled with us dancing and singing to the latest and greatest, but also the classic jams that we all know and love. Here are some of our favorites, enjoy!Make some memories! –Audrey

September Playlist- Transitions

Hi! I'm Elissa, an intern at Shewanders from San Franscisco.  As we start a new season we shed the summer mindset and transition to the (only slightly) cooler months of fall.  My sister is making one of the biggest transitions into adulthood this fall, she’s going to college! She's preparing to end her high school years but she's not quite ready to be an adult in the real world. It’s made me think of the transitions everyone make as the Fall starts. If you’re starting something new write a list of goals for the future.  If you’re ending something and shedding the old then take time to reflect on your experiences and write down what you have learned from them. Transitions can be crazy times and it's always helpful for me to look back at what I have accomplished and what I'm working towards. Hopefully this playlist helps you make that transition from summer to fall.Happy Fall! - Elissa

August Playlist

Hi! I'm Simon, an intern at Shewanders from Italy. When I think about August I think about Ferragosto, an Italian holiday on August 15th. It is the perfect day to spend with the family or with friends. Ferragosto has roots in an Italian tradition from 18 BC when August (Rome's emperor) choose it as a national holiday. It was to celebrate and give thanks for the season's harvest, which is why the Italian name is Ferragosto (from Feriae=holiday and August=emperor and month name). On Ferragosto you don't need think about work, just BBQ and beer. So you can invite all of your friends and family to eat, drink and play in the sun. The BBQ typically start at 10 in the morning in a park or in your garden; if you are well organized you can party all day, and into the night. But remember, before start the Ferragosto party you need a good playlist.

Happy Ferragosto! - Simon

Singing Along With: Sunshine & Springtime

With Spring just around the corner, its hard to not crack a smile thinking of the nostalgia that warmer weather brings. Although it's never too cold in Southern California, there is true happiness in trading in those jeans and cardigans for dresses and sunglasses. Enjoy these tunes as you so soak up some sunlight, or even as you're taking that road trip you've always dreamed about...xoxo.... Suzanne

Singing Along With : I'm Thankful Playlist

"Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent." -Victor Hugo Hello! We're trying something new! Music is very powerful; it can describe our mood in ways we never could be able to otherwise express. It can build us up, break our hearts, bring up memories or even help us look forward to the future. Here at Shewanders, we love listening to music and because of that we wanted to share a playlist that fits every mood for the months to come. We hope you enjoy our first musical blog post!

Here in San Diego we are thankful for Summer in Fall. This means pairing tank tops with scarves, shopping for the lightest sweater we can find, and maybe getting our coffee hot instead of iced. Although it is going to be 84 degrees on Thanksgiving, this playlist will help set the mood for family, fun, and plenty of mashed potatoes.

We are so thankful here at Shewanders for our viewers, clients, and the continuous support we receive.
